I²C and SMBus voltage level shifter
The NCA9306 component is a dual-channel bidirectional I²C and SMBus voltage level shifter with an enable (EN) input that enables bidirectional voltage conversion from 1.2V to 5V without the need of a direction pin. The switch is designed with a low on-state resistance (RON), allowing connections to be made with minimal propagation delay. When EN is at high power, the converter switch is turned on, and SCL1 and SDA1 I/O are connected to SCL2 and SDA2 I/O respectively, thus achieving bidirectional data flow between ports. When EN level is low, the converter switch is off and there is a high impedance state between ports. In addition to voltage conversion, the NCA9306 component can be used to isolate a 400kHz bus from a 100kHz bus by controlling the EN pin to disconnect the slower bus during fast-mode communication.
